R & D Liner HangerPerformed research and analysis of different conceptual designs for Liner Hanger System. Developed next generation HTHP Hanger-Packer System. Designed the test fixtures, developed test procedures, conducted prototype tests, prepared engineering documents related to testing, and directed the lab technician to assemble the test fixture. Communicated with manufacturing with bill of materials and cost estimation for initial product runs. Dealt with the tools failure issues and provided work instructions and field product alerts to product line. Familiar with API/ISO standards and specs with proficiency in FEA (Finite Elements Analysis). Recruited and mentored the college summer interns.

Verify and evaluate existing well intervention tools as per client’s requirements using SolidWorks Simulation and MathCad software and applicable API & ASME codes.Was responsible for creating new designs or re-designing outdated parts of the well pressure control equipment, per customer sales order.Provided BOM maintenance and ECO and NCR support to personnel for manufacturing and field failure issues. Involved with the FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for Drilling and Production equipment, including stress analysis, fatigue analysis and fracture mechanics.

Designed downhole tools using SolidWorks software.Verified the existing tools designs and corrected errors in technical documentation.Performed engineering calculations and analysis such as burst, collapse, tension, compression, tolerance, etc.

Performed research on drilling operations and programmed “Gasdrill” software.Investigated optimization methods for structural design of sucker rod pump systems.

Performed mechanical design for oil production equipment by using AutoCAD. Conducted research on advantages and disadvantages of artificial lift methods using PCP, ESP & Sucker Rod Pumping systems for oil production in Daqing oilfield.Acted as a lead engineer in the project “Surface drive research projects and developed PCP system applications”, which was applied to more than 100 oil wells in the field during 2000-2002. Conducted the project “Well logging while oil production for measuring water cut” by designing eccentralized wellheads, inflatable packers, gate valves and wireline type logging tools specialized for eccentralized wellhead testing. Supervised the installation, testing and troubleshooting for on-site production equipment and downhole tools.Participated in downhole tool design such as inflatable packer, anchor, sand screen, downhole separator, stabilizer and centralizer assemblies, etc.
