Although it took me a while in both my career and my study of agile project management and scrum to fully understand why i was so drawn to this line of work the very first day i had discovered it, emerging from a childhood inclination to want to build things, to being part of a close team, seeing things from start to finish and patting our backs at the end of the day with pride and satisfaction for a job well done, the pride of having completed something, and me being a teacher and sharing what I love with people, my passion. With four years in agile practice in the product development lifecycle, processes and project management as well as risk mitigation in working with cross-functional teams to deliver incremental product of working value to the end users on time and within scope utilizing agile methodologies and agile scaling tools such as the scaled agile framework (SAFe) to lean product management and continuous delivery/integration (CICD pipelines). I have been able to do just that. The more I learn and know, the more i want to know, as I seek to grow and discover new ways of doing things, from traditional waterfall models to the implementation of other more recent agile framework like DevOps. I believe whether old or new each methodology does have its uses and strongholds even in today’s fast-paced ever changing world and market place.Through my past working experience having developed skills in analytical thinking, problem solving, organization, time and conflict management, as well as excellent communication and negotiation skills to be able to work well within a team framework. Acting as a coach Instilling agile values and practices, as we’ll collaborating and working with stakeholders throughout project development lifecycle has become one of the things I am most proud of myself for professionally.Having past experience working both as a market research analyst for product development, and then as a product owner in a scrum team with strong emphasis on user-centered product development and delivery, being able to work with the current agile team’s product owner throughout the product backlog refinement process as well as the creation of the product roadmap becomes an added advantage to whatever scrum team and company I’ll be working with in the future. Assessing value, development cases, prioritizing user stories, epics and themes to ensure work focuses on maximum value items that are aligned with the overall product strategy, business objectives, and ROI.
