Mining Rock Mechanics Engineer with over 20 years of experience in academia and consulting related to rock mass characterization, slope engineering design, interaction analysis, and numerical modelling for surface and underground excavations. Sonia has been involved in the design, operation and management of pit slopes, underground mines and civil works throughout North America and overseas.She enjoys passing on her knowledge as a mentor and a university lecturer, and is an adjunct professor at the University of British Columbia and Simon Fraser University.
