Lead researcher in commercial project- Renovate Pharma funded by Enterprise Ireland - Worked on stabilisation and optimising the aerodynamic performance of Dry powder spray dried inhaled and stabilizing poorly soluble drugs for nebulised formulation testing, optimisation carriers for size, release and stability, testing by cascade impactors through commercial inhalers and nebulisers with industrial partners, quantification and physicochemical parameter optimisation, testing for efficacy on alveolar macrophage cells.

The research was focused on the development of nanocrystal based suspension for a drug of natural origin to treat osteoporosis. The formulations were found to improve the physicochemical and therapeutic profile of drugs and can be a potential oral drug delivery with promising in vitro and in vivo efficacy against osteoporosis. Instrumental skills: UV Spectroscopy, FTIR, High pressure homogenization, HPLC, X-ray diffraction (XRD), Zeta potential and particle size analyzer, optical microscopy, scanning electron microscopy (SEM), differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Biological technical skills: Cell culture, cell viability assay, measurement of reactive oxygen species and osteocalcin level and inflammatory biomarker. Animal experimental skills: Rat animal model, ovariectomized osteoporotic rat model, In-vivo study, pharmacokinetics study, bioavailability study, bone analysis, calcium, phosphorus and protein estimation in blood and urine. Pharmaceutical skills: Very good knowledge of Preformulation, Dissolution, Dosage form design including Solid/Liquid oral formulation, Tablet, Capsule, Parenteral injection, Topical formulation(cream/ointment) and Pharmacokinetics(ADME)Project management skills: good communication skills, good laboratory practice, experimental data management, meeting deadlines, individual task management, and critical analytical thinking. Writing skills: SOP writing, periodic report writing, research article writing Intellectual property rights skills: finding and protecting IP rights and licensing. Regulatory affairs skills: Good knowledge of ICH guidelines (Quality, Safety, Efficacy and multidisciplinary), IND and ANDA submission, and six sigma. Clinical Trial skills: Good knowledge of the drug discovery process from lead optimization to final finished product and all the phases of the clinical trials (Phase 0, I, II, III and IV)
