• I was involved in Requirement gathering, Estimation (Project Planning), design and setup of the infrastructure for the project.• I closely monitored the development activities, was involved in setting up the templates for development of DataStage jobs.• Involved in Business Analysis understanding the Source and Target systems. • Design and develop Data warehouse loading process. This included Server / Parallel Datastage jobs, Perl scripts and Autosys jobs.• The challenge in these projects was the method and format in which data would be received would be varied depending on the clients. We would receive data as flat files or as messages in MQ etc. We have developed jobs that download messages from a MQ Queue and send acknowledgment back. • Understanding the Target system and the way the table have been laid out in the system was an integral part of Project execution as this was the only way to ensure the data quality.• Coordinated all the development activities with offshore.• Mentored offshore in their development and integration activities. Like infrastructure setup, detailed analysis required for data loading and correction.• Detailed reject logic built into the loading process.• Support and reporting on the loading cycles in Production.• Each of the projects worked on required extensive Data Modeling activities as part of its design.

India

• I was particularly involved in the development of the Parallel Processing routines to improve the performance of Data Loading.• Apart from the ETL job development I was also involved in creation of Stored Procedures for some of the functional areas.• I was the lead for the functional area, Classification. Here classification data customized by the client would be validated and loaded into database tables. • Jobs were developed so that the validations that are expected of a UI were brought to ETL with very good response time. This gave the user the flexibility of using their own tools for customizations and being able to integrate / view the same in the PM system.• I was involved in functional areas like INDEX, Calculation of returns for Indices / Securities / Account. • The ETL options such as routines were extensively used to develop the calculation engine for the Rate of Return Calculation. • Developed parallel extender jobs.

India

• Analysis of the design was conducted. Based on the analysis, was able to contribute to the changes to the design.• Coordination between Onsite and Offshore team• Handled the Database administration of the project.• Took care of all the necessary documents related to the project like Project plan, Estimation. Collected Data for Quality related reports like Causal Analysis, Project Management reports. These were as per the CMM standards.• Since this was a new project of its kind to the company, did the necessary analysis and came up with the standards, guidelines and other development related processes.• Conducted team meetings on a weekly basis.
