I design ground up strategies - for massive scale and impact. I lead interdisciplinary teams through tough challenges - demonstrating a high level of thought and craft in branding, experience and interactions. I am cofounder of SPREAD Design + Learning a new age design firm that seamlessly integrates all disciplines of design with technology and media, based out of our design farm that we seeded and continue to nurture ground up - open skies, trees, harvest and all.My most satisfying and significant achievement is The Dream:in Project, an open innovation and design research project that reimagines the role design can play, especially in emerging economies, shifting its focus from people's needs to their dreams, to create inclusive design strategies, empowering people everywhere to dream, believe and realise. Design plays the role of catalyst successfully, bringing multiple stakeholders together to move society forward. The Dream:in Project is the original creation of Sonia Manchanda (me) and I was awarded as one of six 'Gamechangers' by Metropolis Magazine, USA. The Dream:in methodology has been embraced by academics, students, leaders in USA, Brazil, China and India. My biggest hope is that we can have the support of a big dreamer/s to convert this massive transformative agenda into a social impact enterprise.My work has been featured in 'Creative Intelligence', a book by Bruce Nussbaum, in 'Design Transitions', a book by Emma Jeffries, Lauren Tan and Joyce Yee. In 'Change Ahead', a book by Carola Verschoor.I was involved in setting up India's most vibrant design firm and have been privileged to be the Design Thinker and Lead Designer for big businesses, brands and experiences in retail, hospitality and healthcare. I have been the Design Director for the Design and Look of the 19th Commonwealth Games, Delhi 2010, for the brands Future Group, Manipal, Cochin International Airport and most of the brands, culture and experiences associated with Future Group.
