As a member of the leadership team, I work closely with the President to advance the organization’s mission and address social and economic justice issues related to Housing Stability, Social Determinants of Health, and equitable service delivery. I identify and address opportunities for growth and set/guide the strategic direction for fund development, communications, community impact, volunteer management and community partnerships.

As a member of the Executive Team, I led development efforts to ensure resources for the effective delivery of mission-centered programs. I worked with the CEO in overseeing the streamlining of operations to optimize those resources and support sustainable growth.

As a member of the Executive Team, I directed the organization’s resource development strategic plan to include fundraising, event production, volunteer management, communication, marketing and media outreach.

In close coordination with the President, set and guided the strategy for fundraising, marketing, and external communications for the organization. The scope of role included: • Developing communications strategies that broaden organization’s reach in the community. • Developing and refining the organization’s “core” messages to ensure organizational consistency. • Redesigning, managing and updating content on organization’s website. • Representing the organization at public events and meetings. • Securing financial support from individuals, foundations and corporations. • Developing and tracking grants, proposals and reports for all foundation and corporate fundraising. • Planning and executing direct mail and third-party event fundraising.

As a member of the Core Executive Team, I was responsible for building a robust volunteer and annual giving program that meaningfully connected constituents to the organization’s mission. The scope of role included: • Acquiring new annual donors and retaining/growing existing donors through appeals, newsletters, special events, and social media strategies. • Creative conceptualization of thought-provoking communication pieces to showcase the organization’s impact. • Overseeing the management of an average of 1,000 volunteers each month • Strategic planning, risk management, conflict resolution/prevention, budget oversight and management, public speaking and presentations, and effectively navigating shifts in organizational culture through cross-departmental leadership and collaboration. • Developing policies, procedures and relevant communication pieces • Interacting and collaborating with departments and partner agencies to build bridges between their needs and resources in the community • Creating volunteer experiences that intentionally cultivated the constituents’ level of engagement with the organization • Managing events to include large service projects, enrichment activities for clients, third-party fundraising and other community outreach events.

• Marketing/branding strategy and execution, including logo conceptualization, graphic design and content development. • Prospecting and research, database development, management and end-user training. • Special event logistics support.

• Developed online strategy, including online communications management system, donor outreach, web optimization, design, and written content. • Project management of employee-giving campaign, workplace-giving campaign, patient donation program, and annual phone-a-thon program. • Developed a gift-matching campaign to optimize annual major donor gifts. • Created and implemented seasonal campaigns. Worked with each site to achieve and surpass yearly income goals. • Coordinated special event logistics of inaugural Annual Luncheon (featuring nationally-renown keynote speakers). • Designed promotional materials for special events including invitations, sponsor cards, signage, and programs (included creative conceptualization, logo/image illustration, design, copywriting, editing, typesetting). • Developed data-mining systems and best practices for procuring and maintaining donor patronage.

• Developed and managed graphic design and in-house print/finishing production (creative conceptualization, logo/image illustration, design, copywriting, editing, typesetting) of communication materials. • Coordinated logistics, technical support and promotion of special events (Radiothon, 5K Run/Walk, Annual Luncheon) and trained/supervised volunteers. • Supervised major direct mail appeals. • Database management: Built custom Access database applications to streamline special events. Created and implemented data collection and reporting procedures. • Trained staff and volunteers on the use of information systems. • Managed web communications, including administration of the organization’s website. • Administered donor database program (The Raiser’s Edge) and trained volunteers on data entry use.
