In this position I was employed by the International and Advancement Division at the University to tutor an international student with English language development. This has given me greater experience in instructing English for Special Purposes, as the student is a Research Higher Degree student who has successfully passed the University's Academic ELICOS program. My purpose in this position is to support the gaps in the students knowledge of the English language and its applications in an academic context. This involves perceptive diagnosis of the student's language abilities, strengths and weaknesses, as well as lesson planning, editing and assessment of the student's written English.
