I am fortunate; my profession, my interest and my passion coincide: to help people and organisations to become masters of their present and their future, that is to say, to educate. In fact, it is what we have always done as humanity: to accompany each other so that, united, we can empower ourselves to face the challenges of the future. That is why I consider myself, above all, a POSSIBILIST: I create possibilities for things to "happen".For many years - more than 30 years - I have done this by founding educational centres, directing academic programmes, researching and promoting initiatives from my activity as a businesswoman, disseminator, lecturer or writer. In short, creating paths that show that "another education is possible": one in which learning, well-being, technology, organisation and management, scientific evidence, flexibility and personalisation are compatible and provide a solution to the endemic ills of our sector: rigidity, demotivation and hopelessness. These years have given me the privilege of knowing the reality - and its perversions - in 360º and of understanding and empathising with the challenges of parents, teachers, legislators, politicians and social groups, without excluding any of them. Above all, though, it has allowed me to connect with the pain of many young people and I have learned that reality requires much more than the "consensus" to which we appeal and which never comes.Education is, and always will be, the solution to any expectation of social progress. For that, we have to move away from a flawed system that alienates good professionals and makes them feel vulnerable against the rise of other systems that respond to the motivations of young people and the needs of the labour market. That is why, currently, my work incorporates SUSTAINABILITY and BUSINESS as the two great allies. The first, in a broad sense and as a Purpose, since Sustainability tends to generate conditions of improvement that affect us all and to perpetuate itself by providing Value. The second, because of its proximity to the labour market and a pragmatic approach that offers the agility and creativity necessary for any change.I am still, as always, in Action but I know I don't have all the time in the world (I survived pancreatic cancer) and I am excited to leave a legacy in which the ESG PRINCIPLES - Environmental, Social and Governance - towards which governments and companies around the world have already set their roadmap, also reach Education. This is where I am. Every day with more faith and hope. Rowing in favour; always in favour.

ConsultantCertificado Ods 2019 - PresentSustainability is a complex concept that implies a fundamental shift towards a " caring culture ". Care, of course, for the environment, but also for the social impact of our forms of governance. Sustainability affects all areas of our lives and the lever for change, once again, lies in much of the knowledge and processes available to educators. It is natural and exciting for me to be able to do this through Certificado ODS, promoting this cultural change through training, support and development of projects with an impact on Sustainable Development and their certification in educational centres, companies and individuals. -
Founder And Promoter Of Educational Projects And InstitutionsEducacción 2004 - PresentEducAcción is the reflection and materialisation of my convictions. It has always been clear to me that for something to happen, you have to take the first step and take action. In 2003, I left everything behind to found Torrequebrada International School and carry out a project that avoided standardised formats and focused on the well-being of the students. Five years later, in 2008, Fundación Ítaca was born to encourage the exchange of ideas and promote action in the education sector. In 2015, I created Wakana, an experiential classroom located in a natural park to promote the curiosity of young people and adults and to demonstrate the importance of nature and experiences in the development and well-being of people. Currently, Wakana is the first SDG Territory in Spain where residential training programmes in ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) principles take place, both in formal and specialised and corporate training, as well as other types of activities linked to sustainable development. EducAcción also includes a look at the future and employability through different studies linked to advanced technologies and artificial intelligence. -
Management And Entrepreneurial ActivityEducacción 2000 - PresentEntrepreneurship is a concept linked to education; it is accompanying a team towards a desired and common horizon. During my career, I have created and managed companies linked to the education sector. Between 2000 and 2003 I was CEO and spokesperson at Grupo Vértice (with an annual turnover of over 25 million euros) and before that I was CEO of the e-learning division. I was a member of the Education and Knowledge Management Commission of the CEOE and of the plenary of the Chamber of Commerce of Malaga, the Universidad Abierta Interactiva, Círculo Mercantil and Civisur. -

Writer And Co-AuthorEducation 2002 - PresentIn 2018, I published my first book: "¡EDUCACCION! 10 actions for the change our children deserve and need". (PLANETA Eds. DEUSTO, 2018). However, it is a book that I would have liked not to write. Children are telling us and we are not listening to them. Education has abandoned the real world and does nothing to recover it, much less to improve it. If we don't change ourselves, who is going to change their future? Education! is my way of helping to break the educational silence that only benefits those who have interests very different from those of our children. Inside I have tried to put the keys so that all of us who can do something can stop fooling ourselves. In addition, I am co-author of several scientific works and studies: Study and research on the perception of e-Learning based training; HR Managers in Spanish Companies (2 editions); Report on quality and good practices in e-Learning (Uniactiva); Report for the Spanish Ministry of Education (Mr. Julio Iglesias Usell - Secretary of State for Universities) on the relevance of e-Learning in the current model of lifelong learning. I am also Coordinator and Co-author of the following collective works: - Master in Business Management and Administration - Higher Programme in e-Business - Higher Programme in Business Management (Tourism) - Advanced Programme in Human Resources Management - Master in e-Learning and Virtual Training Master in e-Marketing.

Social ActionFundación Ítaca 2004 - PresentIn 2004, I created Fundación Ítaca with the intention of providing a space for all projects of innovation, cooperation and exchange of experiences that contribute to the improvement of knowledge and understanding of the relationships between society and the development of people. Since then, we have collaborated in countless projects such as the annual support of the Kanekal and Bathalapalli orphanages of the Vicente Ferrer Foundation in Anantapur and the St. Jude's centre for the treatment of children with cancer in Bombay. On the environmental front, the Ítaca Foundation has launched, among others, the design of routes and modelling facilities for sustainable development, the creation of the first network of ODS centres and the creation of the observatory for sustainable development in the Ecuadorian Amazon thanks to an agreement with the Yachana Foundation. Likewise, my social commitment has always been linked to women's rights, taking part in different initiatives and having been vice-president of FEDEPE (Spanish Federation of Women Managers, Executives, Professionals and Businesswomen) for three terms of office. -
MotherMother 1990 - PresentOne son and two daughters. I don't understand why it doesn't appear in more curriculums; nowadays, being a parent is a conscious decision that places those of us who are parents in different positions in the educational process from those who are not. To be a mother is to take on the role of co-educator during the formative years and it is an experience that requires constant learning and revision of what has been learnt, but which accumulates triennia just like any other profession (which it is).

StudentSonia Díez 1968 - PresentApprentice is the profession I most like to boast about. It is the one that unites me with all those I have been lucky enough to accompany and be accompanied by, from my first teachers to my youngest pupils. Discovering, the joy of learning, is what I try to take advantage of at every turn of the road: Graduate Degree in Education (Diocesan University of Bilbao, Spain), Degree in Psychology (University of Malaga, Spain), M.B.A. (Instituto de Empresa - Madrid, Spain), Spain, International Executive Programme - Corporate Strategy (Harvard Business School- Boston- USA), Ph. D. in Economics and Business Administration (Doctoral Thesis: Corporate Strategic Management- Summa Cum Laude) University of Malaga.

TeacherEscuela De Administración De Empresas Eae 1988 - PresentAs a matter of fact, I started to become a teacher before I stopped being a student, like many of my colleagues, I am the daughter of teachers and I never thought of a profession with which I felt more identified and committed. My first internship was in a school in San Antonio (Texas, USA) at a time when e-mail was not even used. Since then I have taught at all levels of education and currently I teach regularly for postgraduate courses as a Professor of Leadership and Organisational Development at the MBA of the University of Malaga, and at the School of Business Administration, EAE (MBA, Master in Human Resources Management, Master in e-Business, Master in e-Learning).

School PrincipalColegio Internacional Torrequebrada 1997 - 2004My father headed the first school I attended, first as a pupil, then years later as headmistress, Colegio Europa. From his example I received without filters the experience of the occupation (and the concern) of the managerial function. Only after many hours of listening to children, teachers and parents, inspectors, suppliers, councillors... you understand that not everything they tell you is what really hurts, and that complicity and understanding, more actions than words, are the most valuable tools of management.
