Sonia Edmonds is the Managing Partner, Innovation & Change for BDO Canada, and a member of the Executive Leadership Team. Sonia leads the firm’s business evolution agenda to explore, invent and implement new ideas to drive growth. This includes collaborating with service lines to transform current service delivery methods, reinventing internal operations and ideating to develop services of the future. Previously, Sonia was the National Managing Partner of BDO's Consulting Service Lines, leading a team of over 600+ professionals focused on Management Consulting, Risk Advisory Services and Technology Consulting. She has over 30 years of Finance & Operations experience and over 25 years of Technology Consulting experience. Sonia has also served as one of nine Firm Board Members for BDO Canada from 2019 to 2022, during one of the most critical and transformative times for the firm. While Sonia has worn many hats throughout her 19+ year career at BDO Canada, growth is a key driver for her. Sonia has successfully spearheaded several strategic partnerships and acquisitions, which have resulted in a significant business impact and growth in revenue, as has her ability to identify and create ways for BDO to create a competitive advantage for itself. Throughout her career, Sonia has made it her mission to champion diversity in the workplace, especially when it comes to increasing the number of women in leadership positions. Her commitment to transforming the workplace for women has led to impactful and sustainable results by developing unique programs to help accelerate the personal and professional success of women. Sonia further supports this mission and her community by engaging in speaking opportunities to both high school and university students about the critical need for diversity in the field of technology.Outside of the office, Sonia enjoys Disney vacations with her family and listening to educational audiobooks on various topics including culture, strategy, leadership, transformation, future of work and AI.
