A Ukrainian-Canadian lawyer, entrepreneur, author and believer in being the change you want to see in the world. I believe in the potential of what we can create together when we all stand in our true light and model the values we wish to build our world upon for the benefit of future generations. I started my career 15 years ago as a corporate lawyer at two of Canada's top law firms, in the finance groups working on mining, renewable energy and infrastructure projects. As co-chair of the Latin American Practice, I spent time building economic and trade relationships between Canada and South America. Over the past 15 years, I have worked extensively in international business, law and community engagement. I worked for the Public Defender’s Office in Argentina, for the United Nations Development Program in Ukraine, where I worked as legal advisor to the Prime Minister of Ukraine developing and implementing democratic governance and anti-corruption policies and legal frameworks, and for the President of the Commission of Human Rights and Justice in Mexico to implement the Commission’s mandate around human rights, as they affected Indigenous communities.I’m the Co-Founder and President of the Global Indigenous Development Trust, a Canadian Indigenous not-for-profit organization which supports in Nation Re-Building efforts and communities to become empowered decision-makers in the development of their lands and natural resources. I am a strong advocate for bringing traditional and natural law wisdoms into a new way forward. I led in the creation of the University of Toronto’s Center for Global Engineering Reconciliation Through Engineering Initiative (RTEI) - a collaborative, ‘two-eyed seeing’ approach to applied research in the areas of energy, housing, water, food and transportation infrastructure founded in life systems. I am also active in my local Ukrainian community. I love to share my experiences to inspire a new generation of innovators to co-create a reality that is in harmony with ourselves, each other and of web of life systems. I am the published author of, “A New Human Story: A Co-Creators Guide to Living our True Potential" and participate as a speaker around the world on topics related to social innovation, meaningful collaboration, the power of equitable partnerships and co-creating life economies. I live in the country where I grow my own food, forage and work with nature to continue to uncover her secrets. I am fluent in English, Spanish and Ukrainian.
