Created index for twenty-five recently digitized 19th century logbooks by deciphering handwriting and discovering key words and subjects. Created XML finding aids for digitized logbooks using oXygen XML Editor.

Answered patron’s reference questions, which included finding appropriate finding aids and collections and assisting in basic research. Taught patrons how to use an archive. Scanned and digitized photographs and manuscripts using Photoshop. Processed collections, which included creation of intellectual and physical control of the collection, description, making of a finding aid in a word document and encoding it following EAD and XML standards.

Processed the Lucy Holmes Collection of personal papers, which included creation of intellectual and physical control of the collection, description, and making of a finding aid in both a word document and EAD format. Digitized over 150 photographs and negatives. Created metadata for all digitized material, which included the use of Re:Discovery Proficio—the museum’s photograph database. Helped with cataloging book collection using MARC.
