I’m 29 years old. I just moved to Golden to experience this amazing life in the Rockies and am really excited to get involved with the people, local culture and lifestyle. I already find myself immersed and intrigued by the diversity and excitement of what this little town has to offer.My father bred German shepherds most of my life. So, I am familiar with the welfare and enrichment of animals, such as adequate food, water, shelter/space and exercise based on the type and size of the animal, as well as noticing behavioural characteristics, temperament and social ques given. I have also been around and worked with strong-minded shepherds that I couldn’t necessarily always be around, or it wasn’t safe to in closed quarters, without adequate training or guidance.I Most recently have been with Ontario Parks since 2023 as an Operations Technician in the busiest park in Ontario. By simultaneously being a Park Warden, I’ve been able to enforce provincial legislation under Ontario parks directives and work closely with Ontario provincial police detachments, all while managing and maintaining my own small park. This includes Natural resources, Protected/Invasive species Operating and maintaining my own equipment, machinery and vehicles. Doing monthly/weekly inspections on those listed. This has allowed me to hone in on management and sharpen my problem-solving skills. Which helps me to identify upcoming issues and resolve them effectively. My longstanding background in construction, working on bridges and off buildings has taught me to work hard, improvise when needed and apply my skills/knowledge from past experiences to get the job done. As well as give me the ability to work at high altitudes and inclement weather conditions while maintaining a positive attitude.While I was in school and continuing seasonally after that, I was a waiter/bartender at a very popular dinner club back home in Ontario. I quickly became friends with the owners, close with customers and was always regarded highly by both for my optimism and spark that I offered guests and my colleagues. Being somewhat of a “social butterfly” this comes easy and being a big team player makes work much easier. I’m always willing to help whoever needed it, wait staff, management, back of house.By maintaining a positive approach and having strong communication skills that utilize compassion, and active listening, I’m able to reach people easily.
