Led efforts to manage all areas of environmental compliance at a forging and extrusion manufacturing facility that made aircraft engine parts. Areas managed included hazardous waste generation, air and waste water permitting, storm water permit and SPCC (Spill Prevention Controls and Countermeasures).The primary function of my position was risk mitigation and ensuring corrective actions were completed for non-conformances that were discovered during various inspections I performed. Key risk mitigation tasks included waste water sampling and managing the radiation safety program.A key accomplishment during my time in this position was writing of work instructions for environmental tasks that did not previously have any instructions. Some of the more significant work instructions written included waste water sampling, storm water wet weather sampling, corporate environmental data tracking and reporting as well as Tier II report completion and submittal using the Georgia Environmental Online System (GEOS).

Managed Environmental, Health and Safety efforts at a manufacturing facility that makes, services and repairs gas and steam turbines and their associated components for the energy industry.A focus of my efforts early in my employment was to develop and implement environmental programs in the areas of hazardous waste and universal waste (fluorescent bulbs and rechargeable battery recycling) as these programs did not exist previously. I would have a significant role in building our emergency response capability as it related to fire, severe weather and medical emergencies. A team of emergency responders in name only would be led by me to become a group that was equipped and trained to lead evacuation efforts as well as respond to medical emergencies.My key accomplishments included:* Improving recycling of manufacturing waste to a level that realized a 70% reduction* Key contributor to facility achieving ISO 14001 certification and eventual recertification* Key contributor to launching a successful Behavior Based Safety program* Decreasing Storm Water and SPCC corrective actions from high of 12-15 per month to 2-5 per month.
