Researched, designed, and developed artificial intelligence-based computing systems for gaming, interactive narrative, social networking, and software art supporting individual expression, cultural analysis, and social change. Developed and documented designs implementing models and theories from cognitive science, social psychology, narratology, and psycholinguistics in the form of gameplay mechanics, data structures, and procedural algorithms. Led data analysis efforts for a long-term user study of real-world player identity, social stigma, and videogame avatar identification. Organized and anchored the collaborative writing process for several published research papers. Led a team of three undergraduates (two programmers and one artist/designer) in developing 2012’s A Slower Speed of Light over an eight-week period, using a modified scrum method. Designed and crafted gameplay environment in Unity3D. Coordinated playtesting efforts. Recorded and implemented procedural in-game music and audio. Oversaw development and spring 2013 release of open-source relativistic graphics toolset, OpenRelativity. Coordinated publicity strategies and appeared in promotional trailer videos for both releases.
