Sonya Peterkin is a Florida-licensed attorney providing representation in U.S. Immigration law. She is a native of Florida whose mission is to serve her community through excellent legal services and public service. Sonya's Jamaican roots allows her to uniquely and personally relate to immigrants and their families. Her relatedness and unique understanding of immigrants and the issues they face, are what drives her to dedicate her advocacy skills towards advancing the rights of immigrants and vulnerable groups, as well as educating the community. Sonya earned a Bachelors degree in Psychology from Florida Atlantic University in Boca Raton, Florida, with a Political Science minor. Thereafter, she earned her Juris Doctorate law degree at Florida Agricultural and Mechanical University College of Law in Orlando, Florida. During law school, Sonya interned at an immigration law firm and Harbor House of Central Florida where she helped abused women, men, and children, obtain protective injunctions and became a certified Domestic Violence Advocate. She has dedicated her entire decade-long career to practicing immigration law as the Managing Attorney of the Law Office of S.A. Peterkin. She is a member of the Florida Bar, American Bar Association, the American Immigration Lawyers Association, the Middle District of Florida, and the South Lake Chambers of Commerce.After a decade of running her own law firm and experiencing firsthand the challenges of managing countless documents, she became the CEO of FileOnion. Her mission is to help law firms and businesses streamline their operations by providing an efficient and user-friendly document management solution.
