An archival film project dedicated to Canadian dance history and includes a wider scope of identity, including the Brazilian Canadian contemporary contributions of dancer and choreographer Newton Moraes.2022 will mark twenty-five years of artistic excellence for the Newton Moraes Dance Theatre, highlighting his choreography with his life’s trajectory.

Freelance videographer captures video content for various dance companies and independent artist on an ongoing or project-to-project basis. Work alone, or as part of a small team of two to record footage for anything from a long-form documentary to a short web video or teaser.

What is Lux Magna?Winter has come, and we are proud to present: LUX MAGNA (the Great Light)! LUX MAGNA is a 4 day festival with a diverse array of local arts, culture, and music, as well as some out of town guests to warm our collective soul!LUX MAGNA FESTIVAL is brought to you by a group of women and non-binary curators and artists with multidisciplinary backgrounds from the forefront of Montreal’s art scenes. We were brought together by our collective need to change the narrative of how arts events are made, and to shine a spotlight on the music, dance, spoken word, and visual arts made in our community right now that are exciting to us! We want to charge into the future with our heads held high and our shirt sleeves rolled up, ready to work to create real and lasting events that bring people together and lift up, rather than tokenize and commodify.The artists and events we are presenting in this first edition will test boundaries, question the status quo, and send us to new and bold understandings of the sublime in the world around us. At LUX MAGNA you will find:During the day, an amazing line-up of events for folks of all-ages including activities for kids, a poetry workshop, a sound tech internship, dance, a protest poster making workshop, and more.During the night, shows with everything from hip hop, experimental music, bluegrass, a brass band battle of the bands, punk, dance parties, and more.We aim to inspire, surprise, educate, agitate, and create action for positive change.
