I am a professional planner with over 18 years of municipal land use planning experience. I'm passionate about creating and maintaining healthy and vibrant communities, and I believe that meaningful public engagement is imperative to good community-building.My current focus is the management of a variety of policy projects, ranging from the creation of secondary plans and design guidelines, to updates and amendments to the Official Plan. My work includes a strong emphasis on public participation, including the coordination of large-scale community engagement events.Additional responsibilities include: supervising and working collaboratively with consultants on a range of planning and development matters; preparing and presenting reports on land use policy matters to Council and Committees of Council; providing professional planning advice to the public, affected agencies, other departments, developers, and Council and Committees of Council; reviewing and managing development applications; responding to planning initiatives of other jurisdictions and levels of government; and representing the department on various internal and external task forces.I am a Registered Professional Planner (RPP) with the Ontario Professional Planners Institute and a full member of the Canadian Institute of Planners. I have a master's degree in urban and regional planning from Queen's University, and my undergraduate work included a joint major in geography and environmental studies from Trent University.
