Began as Assistant Director in 2015 before being promoted to Director in 2017. Accomplished the following:•Grew the nation’s premier annual writing conference from 80 sessions and 700 attendees to 130 sessions and 1000+ attendees; innovated new DEIB-focused programs; raised a record $350,000 annually.•Curated and recruited 150+ speakers each year, including guest authors, literary agents, editors, and publishing innovators. Worked with each presenter to shape their sessions and meet the conference’s goals. Created the 3-day conference’s schedule of 130 sessions, 600 agent meetings, 3 large parties, and 3-5 additional events. •Hired, trained, managed, and evaluated a team of 8 staffers to plan and support the conference.•Closely tracked all data—including income and expenses, deadlines, contacts, registrations, outreach, outreach initiatives, marketing campaigns, and troubleshooting efforts—and used this data to make agile, strategic decisions. •Spearheaded the organization’s Inclusion Initiative by creating a Writers of Color deck of sessions and growing it each year. Increased scholarship funds each year for attendees who were of color, LQBTQ+, living with a disability, low-income, and/or under age 35. Increased representation of guest authors, literary agents, editors, and attendees of color every year.

•Planned, coordinated, and hosted monthly events for the 2,000+-member Boston Writers of Color Group (BWOC), to create community, education, and publishing connections and address career challenges uniquely faced by writers of color.•Wrote and curated monthly newsletter to 1,500+ BWOC subscribers.

My short fiction and essays have appeared in Best American Short Stories, Ploughshares, Kenyon Review, American Short Fiction, Poets & Writers, Writer’s Chronicle, and more. I've received fellowships from the National Endowment for the Arts, the Elizabeth George Foundation, the Bread Loaf Writers’ Conference, and more. I received an MFA in fiction from the Program for Writers at Warren Wilson College, and I'm currently writing a novel.

Hired as Program Coordinator in 2005, was promoted to Program Manager in 2008, and then Program Director in 2012. Accomplished the following:•Oversaw the operations and financial health of GrubStreet's earned-income programming ($950,000 annually or 75% of GrubStreet's budget), including over 600 annual workshops and classes, the manuscript consultation service, the Muse and the Marketplace conference, the Novel Incubator program, the Launch Lab program, and more.•Created unique and forward-thinking schedule of 120+ classes and events per quarter. Identified gaps in what the GrubStreet community was seeking to learn, and designed classes and programs to meet these needs.•Oversaw major technical projects, including the soup-to-nuts design, building, and implementation of a brand-new GrubStreet website, plus a custom internal database to track class registrations, income, donations, payments, mailings, meetings, and consultations with all stakeholders. Oversaw the complete transfer of all data from legacy database and website to new system. Developed new processes, documentation, instructions, and trainings for staff use.•Supervised all logistics for GrubStreet’s annual gala, A Taste of Grub. Spearheaded all fundraising and event plans, including inviting donors, inviting guest authors, asking for pledges, coordinating with the gala venue, procuring food and beverages, designing the evening’s program, running a silent auction, issuing all marketing campaigns, recruiting and training 15 volunteers, and serving as the lead contact for all staff, board, volunteers, entertainment, security, vendors, and guests.•Hired and supervised 1-2 full-time staffers, 6 temporary staffers, and 4-8 GrubStreet interns per year.

Fostered community among the regional chapters of Physicians for Human Rights for medical students. Organized, soup-to-nuts, the first National Student Conference for PHR medical students at Tufts Medical Center.

Supported the brand-new MFA program in admissions, communications, marketing, student support, and faculty assistance.
