Soon Aik is a Malaysia-based digital and product strategist. He was the Chief Product Officer of Softinn, an award winning travel technology hospitality startup based in Melaka, that empowers thousands of accomodation providers in Southeast Asia. Previously, he was the product & marketing lead and digital strategy consultant at Netizen Experience, with focused sectors in public, bank, media, e-commerce and more. He has been assisting various organizations in Asia to improve business performance and user experience with evidence-based approaches. He conducted over 300 usability tests, user interviews and innovation workshops.With his extensive consulting experience, he actively contributes to nonprofits and startups through volunteerism and mentorship. As an assistant to the chairman of Melaka Smart City Advisory Council (SCAC), he assisted the Melaka state government to review policies and proposals that are related to digital economy development. He is also a community builder at Startup Melaka, working on tech and entrepreneurial community development for his hometown.He was recently selected as Global Policy Fellow by University College London, and YSEALI (Young Southeast Asia Leaders Initiative) Professional Fellow for economic empowerment, an initiative by the U.S. Department of State.
