Tahola was established in 2000 following a management buy-out from Foundation Systems. Tahola specialise in providing a Performance Management solution for various types of organisation, which have a need to analyse the performance of their business in greater detail. Responsibilities and achievements:• Involvement in Performance Management projects from initial scoping stage through to implementation and handover & training.• Completed first Cognos Planning project for Tahola• Cognos software used includes Powerplay, Transformer, Impromptu, ReportNet, CMM, Planning & Cognos 8 BI.• Microsoft SQL Server 2000 data warehouse building, using DTS.• Successful completion of Tahola’s first project that used SAP as source data.

Mill House Inns was established in 1995 by 2 former directors of Grand Metropolitan and had more than 50 pubs, with a turnover approaching £35m. Responsibilities and achievements:• Analysis – providing key analysis for the business, using financial, EPOS and operational data, which was presented at management meetings.• Management Accounting – Development and co-ordination of annual budget models. Automation of the production of the monthly P&L’s.• Stocktaking – Management of 3 internal stock-takers. Set-up the process and reporting systems for this new function.• EPOS – Management of 2 EPOS co-ordinators, ensuring that all price and menu changes were delivered accurately and on time.

AAH Retail Pharmacy was the largest neighbourhood pharmacy chain in the UK, with over 1300 branches, trading under the ‘Lloyds Pharmacy’ brand. Responsibilities and achievements:• Financial control and analysis of two regions within AAH, with approximately 450 branches.• Re-design of weekly sales reporting model, converting from Excel to Access.• Development of a monthly performance pack for the operational managers.• Preparation of the annual budget, at both a branch and a company level.

Responsibilities and achievements:• Development of spreadsheet & database models for weekly & monthly reporting and to forecast branch sales & wages costs.• Monthly performance reviews with operational managers.• Capital expenditure proposals and performance analysis for a new concept of shoe shops.• Financial modelling of a branch manager’s bonus scheme.• Developed high skill set for using spreadsheets and databases.
