Music has been everything for me. After attending my first live show in fifth grade at Roseland Ballroom to see Lorde’s Pure Heroine tour, I only wanted to spend my birthday and holiday money on concerts. It wasn’t until I started searching for my first internship that I realized working within the music industry could become my career. ​I’ve had the privilege of interning at companies such as the publicity firm Big Hassle Media, Red Light Management, and Sony Music Publishing. These experiences have not only solidified my passion for working in music, but have equipped me with a diverse skill set that spans the industry from publishing to publicity.​At Big Hassle Media I delved into the intricacies of artist publicity and media relations by crafting comprehensive press sheets, delivering detailed industry news reports to the team bi-weekly, and gathering media lists for new album/single releases, music videos, and interviews. At Red Light Management, I worked directly with artists, immersing myself in artist development and management. I scheduled travel, reviewed marketing plans, created ad mats, compiled press clips, and researched audience demographic information. It was incredible to work with artists I adore, flex my organizational skills, and make the artists and managers' lives easier with my help. My most recent internship at Sony Music Publishing’s NYC office was a valuable opportunity to explore the digital side of the music industry. As part of the social media team, I managed SMP’s Instagram account, crafted engaging long-form Instagram captions for the Album Anniversary and Hip Hop 50 campaigns, and pitched ideas while creating graphics for various projects like song camps, Catalog Chronicles, and Single Anniversary campaigns. ​I’m determined to build a career in the music industry whether it’s artist development, live and touring, A&R, publicity, management, or other creative opportunities that come my way. I am ready to embrace the challenges, innovation, and fast-paced nature the industry offers.
