Since summer 21 I've been working as a freelance PA whilst working as a junior producer for New Amsterdam. I've learn a lot during this period about production, from treatment to filming to post production.From March 22 I will be writing my dissertation which will be difficult to combine with my role as a junior producer. What can I say? I participated in the first season of the Plusplusone talent program and it has completely changed my life. Completely. Up until then it's been difficult to break into the industry, lack of a network, guidance, insight. Until Plusplusone came along. Up until then it's been difficult to break into the industry, lack of a network, guidance, insight. Until Plusplusone came along. For half a year we've been guided intensively by some really wonderful people who I now get to call family and friends. During the weekly sessions held on mondays and wednesdays I've learned a lot about the industry, the different roles and everything around it. All of that eventually led to coming up with a campaign, executing it and seeing it come to life. You could say we've nailed it as a team and had so much fun in doing so. And just as important, I've gotten to know myself a lot better and slowly figured out what my place could be in this industry. If I had to sum up those months: being inspired, feeling supported and growth. Afterwards, I've landed a junior producer traineeship at New Amsterdam. It was time to put into practice what I've learned, that didn't always go smoothly but I'm proud to say that I've pulled through. I dare even say I've found a calling in production and can't wait to see where this path will take me.
