The JLD is a division of the Law Society but with an independent voice. With over 70,000 members, it is the largest special interest group within the Law Society.As a Committee which is elected in to the roles by the membership, the JLD Chair and Executive Committee are responsible for representing their 70,000 members by;■ Campaigning and lobbying on issues affecting the sector■ Providing junior lawyers with the opportunity to influence the future of the profession through their involvement■ Giving advice and providing information■ Providing pastoral support to members■ Responding to consultations, particularly those of the SRA■ International outreach■ Running continuing professional development training and development eventsIn addition to the above, a primary part of this role was to raise the profile of issues which were relevant to members and campaign on their behalf.
