I manage the Bureau of Transportation's Block Party Permit Program. In addition to managing general requirements for this program, such as application screening, I also have worked extensively to promote equity for marginalized communities. This includes researching undeserved neighborhood demographics, coordinating with city advocates, and offering strategic alternatives to build community through alternative space-making on the public right of way. I currently sit on the Racial Equity Road-map committee, as well as the Livable Streets Strategy outreach sub-committee.

This position required that I assist with the coordination of projects with the Bureau of Transportation's community use and right-of-way permitting group. Specifically, I assisted with the management of the block party, community event, and sidewalk cafe permit programs. I worked to update and maintain these permit processes in order to make them more accessible to the Portland community. Additionally, I coordinated with neighborhood revitalization projects by fronting administrative tasks between internal and external stakeholders.

This position required maintaining communication with internal and external stakeholders through weekly committee meetings; securing contracts with artists and service subcontractors, managing a five-figure budget, and overseeing permitting with the city of Portland.
