As a freelancer, I provide commissioned works for dozens of clients (photography, digital drawing portraits, gifts for weddings, posters & decor, sticker and prints, visual aids, data reports). I find it important that I consistently develop my communication & networking skills by checking in with my clients to make certain my products are 100% to their liking. I provide photography services for clients, use Adobe Lightroom as my prime editing tool, communicate with the client beforehand on their visions and goals for the shoot. As well I partake in consistent social media posting on both Instagram accounts (@sophiahaynes.jpg & @sophiahaynesdesigns). I have excelled in the art of Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator.

As a consultant, I lend technological equipment to students and faculty. A great part of my job is the ability to help patrons with any technological matters such as using Adobe programs, downloading software, or troubleshooting issues that may occur. I love assisting patrons with daily tasks necessary for their achievement at the University of Georgia.

In the spring of 2021, I will be the new art assistant for The Red and Black. As I've previously been a design contributor, I was assigned designs weekly, and worked with writers to complement those designs to their stories. As art assistant, I will be more hands-on with the production of the paper, working with Adobe InDesign to create layouts. I will be assisting designs and meetings weekly.

As a photojournalist, I am assigned photo stories weekly for important events or stories, do gallery posts, captioning, and idea pitching.

Through the Yarbrough-Grady Fellowship, I will be working in the Grady College Communication Office as a part of the external relations team to help develop communication and outreach programs and services. Focusing on graphics in my fellowship, I will exercise my graphic communication skills by creating visual content for Grady services and programs, as well as creating content for the college’s website and social media platforms.

As a photographer, I documented several events at the University of Georgia: UGA football games (Georgia Tech, Kentucky, G-Day 2019), basketball games (Auburn, Tennessee, Kentucky), gymnastics, volleyball. I also established confidence working in the field. Whether that be for any sports event, documentation of an important event or meeting new people, I became more comfortable talking to people and finding confidence in my work.
