Responsible for the daily management of the Payroll Specialists in the payroll processing for 3800 employees in 3 states, with 40 CBA’s. Implement process improvements, manage change control and partner with field HR managers. Implement, manage and review payroll to ensure timely and accurate processing of payroll transactions including salaries, benefits, garnishments, taxes, and other deductions consistent with federal and state(s) wage and hour laws, and per Collective BargainingAgreements. Responsible for building and maintaining strong relationships with third party payroll related vendors to drive improvements and efficiencies in process and system use, provide recommendations to senior management. Manage payroll related communications. Lead and provide support to business stakeholders at the operating companies to ensure compliance with the Controller’s Policy and Procedures. Lead and direct companywide meetings for payroll coordinators to share in best practices and initiatives. Work collaboratively with Information Technology (IT), Human Resources (HR), and other departments toensure best practice solutions are implemented across all operating companies. Manage payroll related projects, identifies and recommends updates to time keeping and payrollprocessing software, systems, and procedures. Oversee and provide support of payroll related tasks relating to preparation of internal payroll reports,processing 401K related changes, wage garnishments, imputed income calculations, as well as payrollsystem related testing. Review monthly and quarterly reports from our payroll system and creates ad-hoc reports as needed. Monitor payroll interface issues, reconcile G/L, A/P and paychecks. Generate and review JD Edwardspayroll reports including integrity reports• Perform and approve general ledger account reconciliation as it relates to payroll (i.e. monthly payrollaccrual, garnishment) including generating reports utilized to perform reconciliations.
