I took part in Teach First; one of the most competitive graduate schemes in the UK. I received the 2017 award for commitment to my school, and achieved 33 out of 35 'outstanding' grades with two 'good'. Whilst working at my first school, I made a case for myself in my first year to become Maths Coordinator, and was given this responsibility, alongside several other coordinator roles, which was a first for a newly qualified teacher. I have good leadership skills - I ran a team of nannies when working in France, and was a 'team leader' for both Action for Children and Eurocamp. I had great feedback from the people I managed, and was called approachable and fair. In my life outside of work, I ran a beavers and cub scout group for seven years on a voluntary basis. This involved running a team of volunteers, coordinating trips and excursions, and dealing with the finances. I volunteered at a home for dementia patients for a few years as their 'entertainments coordinator', including running activities and leading trips. I also have many hobbies including piano, guitar, choir, wake-boarding, paddle boarding, surfing, skiing and snowboarding. My time as a teacher has resulted in brilliant levels of organisation, high productivity, and excellent time management skills. I I have a good understanding of people, especially due to my Psychology degree, and have good social skills.
