I worked for Mayor Jesse Arreguin, assisting in the implementation of his community-driven plan to combat climate change, Vision 2050. In this role, I collaborate with a team of five financial experts, as well as the rest of the mayor's office to find best-practice solutions for the issues climate change is causing in the Bay Area. I lead conversations with members of the community, gathering information and ideas for cost-effective ways Berkeley may become more environmentally-friendly. I also gather data on and research cities similar to Berkeley as well as Berkeley to create projections on the city's future property tax rates, population, etc.

Berkeley, Ca

I served as the Chief Campus Editor for the satirical publication, "The Black Sheep Online". In this role, I increased average campus page views by 30% to 5,000 views per day through social media marketing. Additionally, I managed a team of 20 writers and social media interns and in creating satirical content about the Berkeley campus. I work to promote our publication across various social media sites, including Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter.

San Francisco Bay Area

Through PHE, I taught an inclusive sexual and mental health curriculum to 400+ students in Title I high schools throughout California's East Bay Area. In total, I mastered 13 workshops on a variety of health-related topics, and serve as an instructor and guide for classes of 20-30 students. I also advocated for equal health access for youth.

Nantucket, Ma

Most summers since 2014, I assisted in the planning of a seasonal farmers market. This market saw between 500 and 5000 visitors each week, and featured 20 - 30 vendors. I also assisted in the planning and construction of two community school gardens. Additionally, I facilitated the incorporation of fresh produce from these gardens into school lunches. I coached elementary and middle school students in sustainable farming and healthy eating habits. I coordinated conversations between the school administration and farmers, collaborating on best-practice solutions for lack of nutrition in the food of the low income community on the island. Finally, I assisted in grant-writing to implement a wind turbine that now helps to power the island's public schools.

Washington D.C. Metro Area

I worked as an intern on the Global Warming Solutions team at Environment America. My duties included data mining, research, and analysis of major policies and political figures, assisting in the organization of youth rallies, lobbying, and writing blog and social media posts. I also generated cost-benefit models of these policies in STATA and Excel to demonstrated how they would affect American consumers, as well as American companies. I culminated my time here by assisting in the planning an execution of an affiliate event for the Global Climate Action Summit, which took place in September of 2018 in San Francisco.

Oakland, California

I collaborated with a team of 10 interns in the Bay Area to generate and distribute comprehensive guides for each of the Californian congress members. In this roll, I engaged in data mining and analysis for each of these congress people and their possible opponents, and generated cost-benefit models of the policies they supported, demonstrating how these policies would likely affect their constituents.

Collected data on 75 nation’s carbon emissions and kept track of their progress towards renewables. From this, I constructed a hypothesis surrounding nation’s opportunistic and intrinsic motivations for transitioning towards renewable energy, provided data to support it. This culminated in me assisting in writing a published research paper.

Berkeley, Ca

I served on the board of Cal Berkeley Democrats. Specifically, I served as the Editor in Chief of their magazines. I wrote, edited, and did the layout for Cal Dem’s satirical magazine, Smart Ass. I directed a staff of 20 students, collaborated with them on their pieces, and taught them how to use relevant programs, such as word press and Adobe InDesign. In addition to these duties, I served on the board of Cal Berkeley Democrats, assisting in running meetings of up to 60 people, and organized activities such as canvassing and banquets.

Taught children ages 2 and older how to swim. Directed a variety of programs, including the swim team. Facilitated events between the club members and the local community. Organized multiple swim competitions for upwards of 100 children.
