About Sophie Martin

I am a recent graduate from the Masters of Management of Applied Science (MMASc) in the Global Health Systems spoke at Western University. Upon graduating from Western University with an Honours Specialization in Health Sciences in 2021 I entered the MMASc program to expand my working knowledge of the barriers preventing innovation in global health and the role policy plays in health systems.Upon graduation I started my career with the Public Health Agency of Canada in my field of passion, health policy. Through my work in policy I aim to increase access to healthcare and improve equity of care. I will combine my interests in the sociology of health, and the intersection of health and the environment in future work. I believe policy represents a way to prevent and address malhealth in large segments of the population which is the driving force behind my interest in this area.
