I am currently working for the British Medical Association and recently completed two secondment’s as a dedicated Policy Advice and Support Officer, where I specialised in advocating for and supporting different grades and specialities of doctors. In this role, I provided policy guidance and ensured our members were well-informed and effectively represented in a rapidly evolving healthcare landscape.During my secondments, I worked closely with the BMA’s GP, Public Health and Medical Academic committees, which allowed me to deepen my understanding of healthcare policy complexities. This experience was invaluable, further fueling my passion for policy work within the BMA.I have now returned to my substantive role as a Member Relations Administrator within the BMA. In this capacity, I continue to address member concerns and foster strong relationships with both colleagues and members. My experience in this role has been instrumental in shaping my understanding of the critical role that effective advocacy and support play in our members’ professional lives.With experience in both policy development and member support, I remain committed to advancing the interests of doctors and contributing to the ongoing improvement of healthcare standards. My goal is to leverage the skills and insights gained from my secondment and ongoing work to drive positive change and support the professional growth of our members.
