Student MentorYell Canada Jan 2022 - PresentVancouver, British Columbia, CanadaSince 2013, YELL has delivered over 100,000 program hours to over 1,000 secondary school students. As one of nearly 600 business leaders and mentors who support their efforts, my role is to help student teams in the YELL Entrepreneurship 12 program learn how to problem-solve, communicate, and navigate the business world as they take an idea from the incubator phase to pitching at a Venture Challenge. The YELL Entrepreneurship 12 program begins with students learning all the core concepts of lean entrepreneurship, including:➡ Design thinking➡ Resiliency training➡ Marketing➡ Financial projections➡ Business Model Canvas➡ and more.YELL students then form groups and work with their mentor to create a business venture together, identify and test assumptions, pivot businesses if necessary, and ultimately prove and validate their concept. At the end of the program, classes across the province come together at an annual Venture Challenge. This is where they put their work to the test and present their business venture to a panel of judges made up of community members, entrepreneurs, and investors. -
Community AdvisorCmpny Cowork 2016 - 2018Vancouver, Canada AreaCMPNY was a bright and friendly co-working space where I had a permanent desk for over 2 years. During that time, I watched the organization grow from a single location to two, and from 1 employee to a small team of 5. I was the first member in the space to be invited to work with management in the Community Captain program. In this role, I worked with a small team of other members to help CMPNY improve the space's culture, boost member satisfaction and ensure the success of events/programs. I did this in three distinct ways:1️⃣ I helped new members integrate into the Burnaby office space by connecting with them in a friendly, resourceful, and inclusive way. I then remained available to them as a friendly ear or handy resource for finding tools, programs or introductions that were available within our community. 2️⃣ I advised management about new ideas, events, programs, and the overall experience by contributing my thoughts and sharing the feedback I'd received from other members as I connected with them in the space.3️⃣ I helped the General Manager create and refine the Community Captain program and its playbook by providing honest feedback, reviewing documents drafts and contributing my community management experience.

Social Media Specialist & Community StrategistSophiebujold.Com 2011 - 2015Vancouver, Canada AreaAs a consultant, I helped both private clients and business audiences learn how to use social media marketing to build their online communities and grow their business. I was honored to share my social media savvy through 1:1 and 1:many work with a multitude of organizations in the travel, design, organization and promotions industries. My goal was to demystify common misconceptions surrounding social media marketing and to teach businesses how to use it to promote themselves and find new clients. I was known for my ability to cut through the techno-babble and show people how to build communities that are eager to hear from them. With my help, some clients were able to: ✪ Grow their audiences from 0 to several thousands✪ Increase sales revenue by up to 30% as a direct result of their social media efforts✪ Boost employee adoption of social media by as much as 50% Best of all, I saw individuals who were extremely apprehensive about using technology and online tools come out of working with me with true excitement and confidence that they could use social media effectively. Reviews like this one made my heart sing: "Before Sophie, I hired 3 other consultants specifically to put us on that map. I was constantly frustrated by no measurable progress. Finally, in Sophie, I found someone who knew her stuff. Sophie has done more for our brand in the last 7 months than the others did in more than 3 years. For example, under her direction, our Facebook community has increased more than 2,400%"

Online Course CreatorSophiebujold.Com 2011 - 2013Vancouver, Canada AreaI was the creator of Take Flight with Facebook - an online course on Facebook marketing for travel professionals. During its existence, I helped more than 150 travel professionals learn how to use Facebook to build community and market their business. The course was delivered virtually over the course of 6 weeks. During this time, participants received weekly video lessons accompanied by worksheets to help them turn what they learned into a concrete strategy. I also supported their learning efforts via weekly calls and a Facebook support group where they could post questions, share successes and see what others were working on. This course was one of the first of its kind in the industry. It eventually garnered the attention of large corporate clients who contracted me to develop similar social media training programs for their internal stakeholders. This is when I shifted my attention from delivering this course on my own to working through client organizations.
