Department of neonatology

Commissioned by a neonatologist I developped a medical device to improve the treatment of Apnea of Prematurity. In order to do so I performed observational studies to create an overview of the current care and experimental studies to evaluate our prototypes. In addition, I was involved in multiple small projects on the following departments: Instrumental Affairs, Neurosurgery, Ethics&Law and Thoraxsurgery.

In order to enable easy access to user manuals of medical devices for caregivers, I assisted in implementing a department specific user manual database

It was my task to draft internal invoices in order to manage the allocation of offices, laboratories and medical rooms for all departments of the hospital.

The aim of YOUNG Medical Delta is to create a platform for students, PhD students and young professionals in Life-Sciences, Healthcare and Technology. As a driving force in the first board I gave presentations to create awareness and I managed PR and social media.

During my internship I participated in the development of the "Concord", a neonatal resuscitation table that enables resuscitation with an intact umbilical cord. My assignment was to redesign the concept to ensure it could be used in multiple hospitals in the Netherlands. I analysed the neonatal care in four hospitals, made prototypes at the department of Instrumental Affairs at the LUMC and tested these in the Erasmus Medical Center in Rotterdam and the Onze Lieve Vrouwen Gasthuis in Amsterdam.

Together with four other students I organised a study trip for 20 students to Istanbul and Ankara. As a team we planned the trip and contacted Dutch and Turkish Medtech companies.

For two technical courses at the Faculty of Industrial Design I assisted in the supervision of 25-50 students every week. Furthermore I prepared, reviewed and graded their weekly assignments.

The seconds edition of the Damen Raceroei Regatta, a national 2km rowing regatta, attracted 250 rowers and 3000 visitors. My responsibilities were the internal and external communication and management of all documentation.

The Laga Business Club manages all business relations of the rowing society. As president I maintained the existing business relations, visited potential new contacts and led the organisation of recruitment events, in-house days and promotion events

I was responsible for creating new business relationships through cold acquisition, together with three other students.
