As part of a political think tank, I contribute to innovative papers to influence Australian government policy. Our work is environmentally focused and implements free-market approaches in solving the most pressing issues of our day.

During my time at Grant Thornton, I worked within a small team of remuneration tax professionals to provide a range of services to public and private sector clients. Alongside a manager or a partner in the team, I consulted with clients to determine their business' needs and sought opportunities to add value through my legislative understanding and specialised knowledge in Australian tax. Some of the services I provided in this role were researching and synthesising technical advice in response to client circumstances and preparing and calculating returns for Fringe Benefits Tax, Payroll Tax, and Income Tax Returns.

In this position, I reviewed and approved article ideas from analysts working for the Review. Once these articles had reached the draft stage, I was also responsible for working with the author to improve and polish the piece so it would meet the high standards of the journal. II edited about 2-4 articles per week and have thus developed a keen eye for detail in writing. In this role, I also used my technical knowledge and computer skills to publish articles online via the Foreign Affairs Review website.

During my time as an analyst for the Foreign Affairs Review, I published 2 articles a semester on current events happening in world politics. My specialised knowledge in international relations and engagement with Critical Theory proved to be an asset during my time working here and aided me in providing a different perspective when analysing political events.

During university I worked as a senior writer for Hearing Aid Magazine, which is a bi-monthly student journal which publishes album reviews and op-eds on the music industry. This role encouraged the development of my creative and argumentative skills when asserting my subjective analysis on musical artists spanning a range of genres. Writing for Hearing Aid was an immensely enjoyable experience for me as it permitted me to explore some of my auxillary interests related to music while also giving me the opportunity to enhance my writing skills to be applicable to a wider range of subjects.

During the summer of 2016, I was employed as an intern in the investment managment division of a private equity firm based in Zürich. In this role, I processed raw data on Microsoft Excel in order to compile investment recommendations and analysed the progress of the firm's ongoing funds.
