After a decade of working to embed responsible tourism and responsible business in the travel industry, I am now working within my local community to grow networks between residents and to create a more inclusive, fairer community with nature and climate action at its heart. I started volunteering with Hillfields Community Garden from its beginnings in 2021 and have seen the tangible benefits of having a strong community network, where before it was almost invisible. I'm now dedicating my working hours to making Hillfields Ward, one of the most deprived in Bristol, somewhere residents feel connected, included and proud to live there. I'll be putting into practice the skills I've gained in travel industry to build partnerships across the city with those who want to contribute to the same goals.
