As Project Manager, I led our transition to our new EHR system and coordinated all communications with vendors, collaborated with external consultants and internal stakeholders, and carried out the day-to-day tasks of implementation. After go-live, I served as the EHR System Administrator.As CQI Lead, I gathered and monitored data about our clinical quality, patient satisfaction, social determinants of health, and demographic attributes, carrying out projects to improve services and outcomes at our clinic. Projects included chronic disease management, social determinants of health, peer review, and cancer screenings. I also prepared our UDS and OSHPD reports and managed interns and volunteers working on CQI projects.

I approached a broadly defined project of quality improvement from multiple angles, taking on operational and analytical initiatives that help our clinic deliver excellent healthcare to our diverse patient population. My job duties included medical scribing, gathering data about our performance on CQMs and offering suggestions on how to improve, preparing and submitting reports to HRSA, developing the agenda for and facilitating our provider and QA meetings, writing and refining clinic operating protocols and patient handouts, and jumping in to help out wherever I could make myself useful.

I worked as a medical scribe, accompanying providers into all their appointments for the day and creating a note for each visit. I also assisted with numerous projects around the clinic, focusing on medical supply organization and autoclaving.

I worked in the Emergency Department of MarinHealth Hospital, shadowing providers through the duration of their shifts. I created notes for each encounter, writing or transcribing the different elements necessary for complete documentation. I also frequently jumped in to help out with nonclinical tasks like providing referrals to primary care providers, fetching supplies, cleaning our shared spaces, and taking time to talk with and reassure anxious patients.

I offered birth doula services in the Bay Area. I approached my work with an evidence-based mindset, making recommendations based on what has been demonstrated to be effective. I saw my role as a doula as helping birthing parents and their partners discover their own capacities and confidence, enabling the best possible birth experience. I was there along the way with lots of information, comfort measures, and practical help, but my biggest goal was to help parents unlock the power they already had.

I built DTI's online doula training program, overseeing video editing, contributing to scriptwriting, designing course modules, editing and refining content, and more. I also organized DTI's inaugural yearly OneDoula retreat, contributed to company strategy, kept our website up to date, interacted with our community of doulas, wrote and designed content, and worked on other projects as necessary to ensure high quality trainings and events as well as a supportive community.
