Maya Culture Festival (Bloomington, Indiana)In 2009, I began taking steps to form OperaMaya, an organization that has evolved into an international nonprofit with a mission of defending the Maya Culture in modern society with world-renowned artistic expressions - while fulfilling my lifelong dream of bringing opera to the masses.Every year OperaMaya hosts an International Summer Music Festival bringing together the top professionals from the world of classical music with the stars of tomorrow- debuting the winner of its annual Composition Competition for new works in the Maya Language- and assisting with the career development of young artists via its: Young Artist Program, Emerging Artists Program, Choral Program, Festival Orchestra, and Collaborative Piano Programs. Together with guest artists from across the globe- the OperaMaya International Summer Music Festival is two weeks and over 14 free events of world-class performances throughout the Yucatán Peninsula.Since 2017, the addition of a sister festival, ¡Viva!, Maya Culture Festival, held in Bloomington, IN, has completed the mission of not only bringing opera to the region of the Maya but also bringing the Maya to the home of opera with new Maya guest artists bringing their art and culture to Bloomington, Indiana annually.The OperaMaya Foundation also includes the OperaMaya Regional Opera and the OperaMaya Young Artist Development and Career Advancement Group.OperaMaya believes every race, creed, and culture has a right to opera and that opera is for everyone!Que viva Mexico!Que viva la OperaMaya!

Nantahala Opera is based on the success of the OperaMaya Foundation. Replicating the vision of access to opera for all in an equitable and inclusive environment, Nantahala Opera brings opera to the home of its founder in the Nantahala National Forest near Cherokee and Bryson City, located on the banks of the Nantahala River where the Trail of Tears began, this second successful arts organizational endeavor seeks to break the confines of class and culture with world-renowned artistic expressions celebrating the rich history of the region and providing access to opera while creating vehicles of expression for the Eastern Band of Cherokee beyond the mountains to contribute to their art, history, and culture via classical music.

In charge of musical programming, hiring of musicians and conductors, production schedules and over all artistic vision.

Taught voice lessons to undergraduate majors and non-majors preparing them for juries, recitals, and concerts. Assisted in advising and represented the university in conferences regionally. As well as the creation of a travel abroad class to the OperaMaya Summer Music Festival for the orchestra and singers.
