Responsible for the health, safety, and environment of two factories, one distribution center and sales force. Created and implemented the health, safety, and environmental master plan. Saved over $500,000 USD annually (conservative estimate) by creating and managing technological projects to reuse manufacturing by-products in the production process through energy generation and disposal savings. Recovered $150,000 USD annually by initiating a pallet reuse project (Sigma Black Belt certification project).Developed a $5 million USD, five-year investment project to improve safety and efficiency of company-wide manufacturing processes. Organized and coordinated all governmental regulatory and licensing issues for plant modifications, new installations, and contracts to ensure full legal compliance.

Responsible for the quality control, assurance and management of two plants of household and pest control products, managing twenty people.Controlled and analyzed quality indicators to establish action plans and improvement proposals. Developed and directed the Six Sigma Program to achieve the following results: savings of $200,000 USD within six months by reducing product waste; reduction in customer complaints by ten-times. Coordinated the analytical test routines in the chromatographic, packing, physicochemical and microbiological laboratories. Structured the Quality Area at Souza Cruz’s new industrial plant near Porto Alegre. Formed and trained a team of thirteen people and analyzed the purchase of equipment and its installation.Developed quality control procedures to assure product quality and managed the access of information on quality for the Plant and related areas.Worked in partnership with raw material suppliers for technical assistance and development, resulting in a 15% reduction in global raw material costs as compared to 1999.Participated in multi-departmental groups for continuous processes improvement, which resulted in increments in the finished product’s quality level.
