Second-year PhD student passionate about the biological study of psychiatric disorders & human emotion. I’m currently leading the PsilOCD study at Imperial College London, which explores the efficacy of a low, well-tolerated dose of psilocybin as an OCD treatment. This is the 1st study of its kind in the UK. As well as assessing its therapeutic potential, PsilOCD will shed light on whether psilocybin improves cognitive inflexibility and decision making. This is particularly relevant, as research now frames these cognitive features of OCD as potentially causal factors. I’m responsible for coordinating the study, including the logistics, data collection, dosing days and patient procedures.
