I am a Psychologist, (B.S., M.Sc. PhD from the Psychology Department of Aristotle University of Thessaloniki). Currently I am the Deputy Scientific Supervisor of Self Help Promotion Programs (SHPP) in Greece. SHPP is an ongoing (22 years) university project that aims to the promotion of self – help / mutual aid practices to the prevention and confrontation of addiction and various psychosocial and health related issues. I have 23 years experience in the field of addiction treatment and prevention, to the field of supporting self – help/ mutual aid groups. I also have long term experience in planning and implementing psychosocial interventions regarding various psychosocial problems and in educating and supervising students of Psychology and other Social Sciences. I am an adjunct lecturer to the Psychology Department of Aristotle University and to the Hellenic Open University. My main research interests focus on addiction (treatment and prevention), participatory action research, self-help/mutual aid groups, humanistic psychology/psychotherapy, critical psychology, Social Solidarity Economy.
