Configured Veritas Cluster Services on multiple Solaris clusters running DB2 instances to ensure a highly available environment for key databases that are essential to OCC core business of processing options.Created & implemented plan for migrating Solaris servers from Solaris 8 to Solaris 10 Created & implemented plan for migrating physical Solaris 10 servers to virtual Red Ht 5 and Red Hat 6 servers. Planned, tested and migrated DB2 instance from DB2 on the mainframe to Solaris 10. Planned & moved servers in the data center from downtown Chicago to the outlying suburbs. This included working with the network team to ensure that the network configuration was present, working with the Storage team to ensure that the new EMC VMAX storage array was configured on the servers so that the disk would be available once the servers moved, working with the DBAs and application teams to ensure that the services came back up after the servers were powered on in the new data center.Moved Disaster Recovery Data Center from East Coast to Texas. Ensure all of the servers in the original Disaster Recovery site were inventoried, powered down, packed and shipped to the new Disaster Recovery Data Center. Once at the new site, the servers were unpacked, racked and powered on. New DR procedures had to be written and tested to account for the move and new installation procedures had to be written due to the fact that the Security at the new location was more stringent for installation and decommissioning of equipmentMonitored and maintained Solaris 10, Red Hat 5 and Red Hat 6 servers. Wrote shell scripts to provide monitoring of systems, used Tripwire for File Integrity Monitoring of the systems, worked with NHS, SMTP logging, performed http configuration and provided auditing and compliance reporting.

Started off as programmer in Urbana, IL. transferred up to Arlington Heights, IL and became a Unix System Administrator in a team of 2 Unix Admins and 2 Informix/Oracle DBAs working on about 20 machines. The group grew to 11 people (5 Unix Admins and 6 Informix/Oracle DBAs) where we were supporting over 150 machines running AIX with HACMP clusters handling most of Motorola cellular's business transactions. Became the lead of the Unix group in 1996 and then the manager of the group in 1998. The group was absorbed into a larger group which was performing the SAP implementation for Motorola across IL, China and the UK. Became one of the managers of that group in 2001.
