We believe that universal educationgender equalityempowerment of girls is critical to a society's development. Our mission is to empower young people in rural areas of sub-Saharan Africa, particularly women and girls, through education to build better lives and foster more equitable communities. Since 2004, our girls' education and literacy programs have impacted over 10,000 people in 73 of the most impoverished communities in Kenya and Senegal. We believe that every child should have the opportunity to attend school and obtain a quality education.

Teaching Trust transforms public schools by fueling school leaders. Our partnership with school leaders is ongoing – we are not just here to give training, send them off with a binder, and hope all goes well. We help implement best practices across campuses by sitting shoulder-to-shoulder with each leader. We offer counsel, on-the-ground support, and accountability across the arc of two years. Our coaching is a living relationship. To date, we’ve impacted more than 1,500 educators in 300 schools, reaching 350,000 students. We are engaging leaders at all levels in large districts to collaborate and build a shared vision – and we are seeing strong results for students in partner districts like Dallas ISD, Fort Worth ISD, Richardson ISD, and Garland ISD.

First3Years is a state-wide non-profit organization whose mission is to educate, advocate, and collaborate to support the healthy development of infants and toddlers. First3Years is recognized around the state for its training programs around infant mental health and our ability to bring meaningful research around relationships brain development during the early years to those who need it most.

- Provide fundraising, capital campaign counsel; and integrated communication and strategic planning services to organizations such as the American Library Association, American Public Health Association, National Hispana Leadership Institute, Ford Foundation (Faith in Place, Chicago), White House Historical Association, National Association of Counties (Multnomah County, Oregon). - As member of Interfaith Refugee & Immigration Ministries’ (now RefugeeOne) senior managementteam, oversaw, implemented, and evaluated development initiatives for the $2.1 million direct services and advocacy agency serving Chicago’s refugee and immigrant families.- Oversaw communications: serving as media relations point person for the agency, and designing and writing collateral, annual report, website content, and other materials. Three placements in The Chicago Tribune, 2006-2007- Staff Liaison for the board development & communications committee, including capacity-building trainings for board members and driving full participation in fundraising.- As required and assigned by the executive director and program director, served as lead on matters related to advocacy.- Responsible for retaining and expanding current funding from government grants/contracts, private, public and corporate foundations, congregations of faith, individuals and annual benefit. - Developed and implemented RefugeeOne’s first major donor program, including Annual Giving Campaign, prospect tracking module, and annual development plan. Led agency's cultivation of largest major gift at the time. - Oversaw and implemented all aspects of the fundraising program, focusing on the Annual Fund Campaign (gifts of $1,000 or more). Managed direct mail, membership recruitment, donor prospecting programs and special events.- Alongside executive director, development committee and board chair, completed successful annual campaign, raising $287,000 and exceeding goal by $55,000.- Designed and drove execution of executive director’s major donor portfolio, including timeline reminders, cultivation and research.- Organized first annual benefit dinner to mark the national executive director’s visit, generating $60,000 in corporate sponsorships, in-kind donations, and ticket sales.- Provided analysis and made recommendations to program, including: integrated campaign progress tracking, enhanced communications with the board, and staff development meetings. - Responsible for on-going training and motivation of the board and development committee to meet development and engagement goals.
