Formulated the Sustainable Development Policy for TECOM. Set up the Sustainable Energy and Environment Division (SEED) in August 2006 to implement the Sustainable Development Policy at TECOM Investments. Planned and executed 5 pillars: (1) Energy and Water Conservation Programme AED 40 million saved in 45 months, (2) Green Building programme: Delivered 5 LEED certified projects and created the Green Office programme, (3) Renewable energy applications: First dual axis SPV tracker installed in Dubai, (4) Sustainable Procurement Policy formulated and implemented, (5) Sustainability awareness programme for all employees.Responsible for Infrastructure Management and Property Management.Part of TECOM Business Parks Operations Department, this function continued to oversee the Sustainable Energy and Environment Division (SEED) with the addition of the greaterer portfolio of Asset Management.

1. Masterplan and infrastructure design finalized on guidelines of making Enpark and all of its developments LEED Gold certifiable.2. Defined mandatory Green Building Guidelines for all projects in Enpark.

Set up the new profit centre for ServeU very successfully with first year's (2004) revenue reaching US$ 204,000/- and a 25% annual growth rate thereafter. Amongst the clients for Performance Contracting & Energy Conservation Programmes and LEED Consultancy were Dubai Real Estate Centre, Commercial Bank of Dubai, Union Properties, Dubai Investments, Emirates National Oil Company (ENOC), Thermo, Metito etc.The Water Conservation Programme through Shared Water Savings scheme at Thermo, included setting up a Grey Water Treatment Plant, the first such retrofit project in the UAE (http://www.enpark.ae/images/water-treatment-plant.pdf).Metito eventually achieved a LEED Gold certificate and became only the third LEED Certified project in the Middle East.

This was a start-up initiative under the umbrella of the then Emirates Bank. This was one failure that became the pillar of my subsequent career success. A huge set of lessons were learnt, especially in reasons for failure, which improved my decision making process and made me better prepared for future initiatives.Amongst some success, was the organization of the FIRST ever Green Building conference in the Middle East in March 2003, under the auspices of HH Sheikh Nahayan Mabarak Al Nahayan, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, UAE. I also had the opportunity to conduct several training programmes in Energy Conservation & Management and Green Buildings. Some of noteworthy attendees were DEWA, SEWA, Al Ain Town Planning, ENOC, Dubai Municipality etc.

Represent Indian Industry in Nepal, create opportunities for bilateral trade & investments, support the development of Indian industries in Nepal.Biggest achievements were: (1) Editing and publishing "Doing Business in Nepal" - a one-stop comprehensive guide book for Indian industries interested in setting up JVs in Nepal, (2) Engaging 4 Nepalese industries to undertake the ISO 9000 certtification exercise in 1999 using CII's consultancy services; (3) Making CII's Nepal Office the first financially self-sustaining international office of CII; (4) Establishing excellent direct relationships with key Ministries in the Government of Nepal.
