Souham El Harati has been practicing law in and out of Kuwait for more than 35 years, advising foreign and local clients on business, corporate, banking, telecommunications, hospitality, offset, oil and gas, BOT’s arrangements, construction, real estate development and taxation laws. Mr. El Harati’s clients include government owned companies, private major and international Construction companies, Telecommunications companies, Asset Management, Majors Real Estate Developers, Banks and Financial institutions.Conducted several local and international Arbitrations (ICC, LCIA, AAA,...etc.) in the fields of business, transactions, construction and international private law. Wrote several articles on Kuwait Law in the International Financial Law Review, the Middle East Executive Reports and in the Business Lawyer International Forum. Speaker on FIDIC, ACE and other forms of international constructions contracts at a Seminar organized in Beirut (Lebanon) by the Law Society of England & Wales and the Lebanese Bar Association. Speaker on international and domestic arbitration under Kuwaiti law and Lebanese law at a Seminar organized in New Delhi (India) by the Union Internationale des Avocats. Acted as the external legal counsel of the Kuwait National Offset Company for 3 years and advised on the drafting and editing of the Counter trade Offset Program No. 9 of 2007.Acted as the legal counsel and advisor for the set up and operation of a Major Kuwaiti Telecom operating company and its acquisition of several licenses in the MENA region. Souham is a member of the Lebanese Bar Association (Beirut 1973) and the French Bar Association (Paris, 1993).
