Soumitra Roy was General Manager South Asia at Prometric . At present, he is a Senior Advisor at Paragon ( a Prometric Company) and at Yugma by Vans Skilling & Advisory. He joined Prometric in June 2004 and brings more than 25 years of leadership and entrepreneurial experience in the IT and services industry. The position is of strategic importance to the growth of Prometric in one of the world’s fastest growing markets. He had P&L responsibility for Prometric’s India subsidiary and has created a significant presence by introducing state of the art test development and delivery capabilities for discerning Prometric clients in India. Soumitra has played a pivotal role to establish the Centre of Excellence in Gurgaon which renders world-class support to Prometric’s global clients. He began his IT career in 1983 as a marketing trainee and rose to the position of General Manager-Operations in HCL Hewlett Packard. Between 1997 and 2004 , held senior leadership positions with large systems integration companies such as ITX Pro Inc,Intersoft Corporation, Syntel Inc and Majesco Software Inc, in San Jose California and Seattle, Washington. He has vast experience in the field of systems integration, E-business and software solutions with a focus on business operations and client management. He is an Honors graduate in Commerce from St. Xavier’s College, Calcutta and has successfully completed management development programs from Indian Institutes of Management(IIM) Calcutta and Xavier Labor Relations Institute(XLRI), Jamshedpur. In his present role, Soumitra is focused on providing Sales leadership for driving new business growth in the South Asian region.Specialties: Analytical leader,P&L Accountability with focus on Business Development and Key Client Management.
