Telstra NGF VVC (Next Generation Fixed Voice and Video Calling) Project -IP Multimedia Subsystem(IMS)Next Generation Fixed (NGF) Voice & Video Calling (NGF-VVC) project is for Telstra’s broadband cable customers, a viable alternative way to traditional telephony and an exciting new video calling experience. It will support existing home phones via an adapter built into their Cable Broadband modem/router, and offer customers opportunities such as video calling with new SIP-based home phone devices. Capability Release 8 (CRP8) builds on previous Titan Capability Release Projects that provided the IP infrastructure and control plane elements of the wireline Transformation Program. CRP 8 is based on two major Telstra business initiatives-POTS Emulation for voice services, using a Softswitch configuration for copper and optical accesses, enhancement of the Passive Optical Network (PON) to allow for enhanced video and data services.
