I fell into recruiting and sourcing in 2012, a space that I initially went into just to have a new job. It quickly turned into a career, learning I have a passion for helping people upgrade their career path and thoroughly enjoying the challenge of trying to find candidates aligned to extremely hard-to-fill roles. I learned that I have a real knack for sourcing and successfully doing so, a combination of being curious about where to locate the right people for the right job, how to connect with them, and just simply being a kind human. I have always been a TA tech nerd as well as I realize the power of putting your brain to use and additionally implementing tech to help you get things done better and faster. I've always been obsessed with watching trends in the market and TA landscape, even if it is something that will help my colleagues rather than myself. 🤓I have sourced for many roles in many industries over the past 12 years. Almost 6 years ago, I was honored to join Altria and help build out the sourcing function, workflows, and processes from scratch, plus I also got to restructure the TA tech we utilize - implementing labor market insights to share with the business and helping to build strategies, implementing Textio to ensure we have not only the most appealing job descriptions, but also allowing us to mitigate bias, and many other improvements. I love working at Altria because my expertise is valued, and it is tough out there to find a company that shows true, real value in its employees. Because of the value I have brought, I was promoted to Senior Manager, Talent Acquisition, where I now get to continue to bring value at a higher level, while coaching and mentoring a wonderful team to do the same. As an introvert and independent contributor for most of my career, I was a little intimidated, but I have found it to be enriching and a real blessing to have a team to lean into and help develop and grow, again just being a human. I also now source for our executive and leadership roles which has also been a lot of fun.
