Born and raised in the picturesque mountain town of Banff, AB, I was immersed in the world of designer ski wear from an early age. Inspired by my mother's passion for sourcing the finest ski lines from Europe, I grew up surrounded by beautiful and functional skiwear. In 1980, my mother founded GOGO, which later became synonymous with one-of-a-kind designs and captivating color combinations, earning a cult following through her store, Mountain Magic Sportswear.My mission at GOGO is to create whimsical, colorful, and wearable heirloom knits that are meticulously crafted by hand in Canada. These values are the bedrock of my brand, and I remain steadfast in upholding them.With over a decade of experience at the helm of GOGO Sweaters, I specialize in designing and curating collections that blend timeless style with modern sensibilities. My expertise lies in streamlining collections for B2B accounts and connecting deeply with our DTC online shoppers, while maintaining the brand's unique identity. My journey to becoming a proficient knitter, started late in life and remains one of the most important decisions I’ve made in my career. Along with developing a program in Adobe Illustrator to pattern my designs. This has provided me with a deep understanding of the craft. By speaking the language of stitches and imagery, I can effectively communicate my vision to our talented team of knitters, ensuring that each piece embodies the essence of GOGO Sweaters.One of my proudest achievements is the expansion of GOGO Sweaters into the US market, with notable retailers such as Revolve and Free People seeking out my designs. Despite facing numerous rejections in the early days, the journey from cold calls to sought-after collaborations has been incredibly humbling and rewarding.GOGO Sweaters is currently dedicated to building upon our existing summer collection, with the aim of making it as in demand as our renowned winter collection. I am experimenting with lightweight yarns like mohairs and cottons that embody the same level of quality, style, and craftsmanship that my brand is known for. Collaborating closely with our Italian yarn mills, I am striving to elevate our summer offerings to new heights of popularity and appeal.Looking ahead, I aim to continue pushing the boundaries of knitwear design while staying true to the heritage and craftsmanship that define GOGO Sweaters. My goal is to further establish GOGO’s presence in both the ski and fashion world, while continuing to innovate and inspire.
