I am an urban planning professional and scholar with a specialization in housing policy and community development. My research focuses on poverty, poverty risk, and economic mobility in transnational geographies. Within the domain of housing, I focus on evaluating access to credit, housing, and mortgage markets and the role of government assistance in affordable housing. I draw upon my decade-long experiences in planning consulting and affordable housing development to formulate my research and pedagogy for planning education. In my work, I often engage in mixed methods research combining qualitative ethnographic studies with quantitative spatial and statistical analyses.
