Soya is Senior Partner at ChangeLab, which she co-founded in 2010 as an experimental hub for racial justice leaders and organizations navigating rapidly shifting political terrain. She currently provides consulting services including writing, research, facilitation, and strategy development, with a particular focus on Asian American racial politics. Soya has worked in the progressive movement for over 30 years as a student organizer, service provider, journalist, legislative staff, community organizer, executive director, and grantmaker. She has led campaigns on immigration, welfare, police accountability, and worker justice, and has worked with dozens of organizations and institutions from grassroots movements to government and philanthropic sectors at the local, national, and international level. As of 2022, she is focused on creating a land-based project in Nayarit, Mexico to build resiliency and joy among social movement activists and artists.
